Robin Hood 50th

Let’s here a song cover from Robin Hood to celebrate its 50th anniversary!

From the movie Robin Hood, released November 8, 1973, ‘The Phony King Of England’ was written by Johnny Mercer and sung by Phil Harris as Little John. This song is based on a song named “The Bastard King of England”

We’ll get started with the rockin’ cover by Norwegian singer PelleK

Threelegsoman has educational videos (sooo many) but they are great to listen to also;

Louis Prima, Sam Butera & The Witnesses from Let’s Hear it for Robin Hood. You’ll of course be forgiven if all you can picture is King Louie singing.

Fun Fact? This song is also notable because the dancing scenes infamously feature recycled animation.
