‘Blue Shadows on the Trail’ is my favorite song from the 1948 film, Melody Time, for the short ‘Pecos Bill’.
This is originally performed in the film by Roy Rogers and the Sons of the Pioneers (and is not to be confused with the Randy Newman version). Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any cover songs that do too much different, so today we get a couple of songs that keep it country. Syd Straw sings a version on Stay Awake: Various Interpretations of Music from Vintage Disney Films;
and British singer Michael Holliday sings the tune on his TV show;
