Well, it’s finally a new year. So this is as good a time as any to start introductions. Might as well talk about my favorite covers while I’m at it. My Name is James* and here are some of my favorite Disney covers.
I’ve thought long and hard about it, and I would have to say that these are definitively, my favorites covers of songs from Disney films*
Robbie Fulks, ‘When I see an Elephant Fly’. Originally from Dumbo, this version is on the bluegrass album O Mickey Where Art Thou. This one cranks the puns and wordplay up to 11.
Kimbra, ‘I’m Wishing’. This one is on the Australian We Love Disney album, and has an excellent video directed by Adam C. Sager.
Last one for today, ‘Find Yourself’ by the violinist Regina Carter. This one is from the album Everybody Wants to be a Cat. Originally heard in the movie Cars.
*Oddly enough, I don’t like that song
